Opportunity Insights
Pre-Flight Checklist
A step-by-step checklist to run through before deploying Opportunity Insights at a customer instance. Complete all 4 phases to ensure a smooth deployment.
0 / 0 complete
Backstory instance is active and accessible at app.people.ai
User has Backstory login credentials (no admin access required)
Google Chrome browser available (recommended for console scripts)
OOTB engagement scores are populating
Check any account → engagement level should show a number, not blank
Activity capture is running
Verify recent meetings and emails appear in the activity timeline
Navigate to app.people.ai before running each script
Verify each table shows rows (if zero rows, check Quick Fixes below)
Optional: Run Enhanced tables (5-8) if custom metrics are deployed
Enter all 4 Table IDs in the Board Generator on the deployment guide
Generate and run the board script
Verify board loads with navigation cards linking to each table
Optional: Deploy Analytics Dashboard
Open each table and verify data looks reasonable
Engagement scores populated, amounts showing, owners correct
Sort Stalled Detection by engagement level ascending — lowest deals should be at top
Check Hidden Opportunity table shows accounts (not opportunities) — this is account-level
Share table URLs with the customer stakeholder for confirmation
Record all Table IDs and Board ID in customer deployment notes
Filters may be too restrictive for this customer's data. Most common: the engagement_level filter. Try removing the engagement filter first to see if data comes back, then add filters incrementally.
OOTB engagement scores may not be enabled for this customer. Check with Backstory support — engagement scoring requires activity capture to be running for at least 7 days.
URL too long for this browser. Use the console script instead (recommended for all tables). Open DevTools, paste the script, and press Enter.
You must be on app.people.ai and logged in before running the script. Navigate there first, verify you see the dashboard, then run the script.
